This is by no means an exhaustive list.
9th Grade
Four Year Package (9th-12th grades)
Early college planning is important for a student to put their best foot forward. Start early to get the most out of their high school experience and have fun! Here’s what we’ll do starting in 9th grade and continue through 10th grade:
“How to High School” - discussion around transition into high school, understanding rank and GPA calculations, and accessing campus resources.
Develop an academic plan (e.g., course selection) aligned with your student’s ambitions.
Help students develop organizational and time management skills and resources, goal planning, and relationship building with teachers and counselors.
Optimize your student’s extracurriculars and summer planning by aligning with meaningful things they can do and accomplish that will strengthen their applications.
Explore interests by defining your student’s interests and developing a plan to explore those interests outside of school through meaningful learning and work.
Create a testing plan to help your student earn the best PSAT/SAT/ACT and AP Exam scores they’re capable of earning.
Reflective writing practice.
As we move into 11th grade, our focus will shift to exploring your student’s interests and options and start developing criteria for their ideal college list.
We’ll follow our student-centered process that reduces stress and gets results. There are no hourly limits. Here’s what we’ll do with students to accomplish their admissions goals starting in 11th grade:
Develop a balanced school list where your student will be happy AND successful (academically, socially, financially, culturally).
Ensure your student has compelling and authentic extracurricular activities by aligning with meaningful things your student can accomplish, while exploring their interests and having their best high school experience.
Select a major based on interests and post-college goals.
Define an application strategy to maximize your student’s chances of getting into their top-choice colleges and earning scholarships (e.g., where to apply early).
Ensure your student has the strongest applications they’re capable of writing. Our team of experts not only provide specific goals and structured deadlines–they do so with compassion and warmth, empowering students to tell their stories authentically and joyfully.
Complete applications well in advance of the deadlines. Our typical student finishes 3 of their top-choice applications by mid-September.
